North wing of the monastery Vatopedi

North wing of the monastery Vatopedi

The wing has five levels and a total area of approximately 3000 m². It was destroyed by fire in 1967 and fully restored by P. Mylonas in 1968. Since then, several interventions have been made at various points (kitchen, vestry, museum, stairwell). The documentation filled the gap in the design background concerning the current state and pathology of the building. The documented elements (deviations from the vertical, erosions, cracks) are significant for proceeding with the next restoration and reconfiguration interventions of the wing.
