Kastania is a mountainous settlement of Agrafa with an altitude of 850m. It is located under the south-end of lake Plastiras and a short distance from the dam of Megdova. It is 25 km away. from Karditsa. The framework study for the upgrading of the settlement was made according to the action 1.4.2.1 entitled "Residential upgrading of areas (settlements, neighborhoods, etc.) with architectural interest, in application of an integrated housing development plan", which aimed to upgrade the wider area in accordance with the Leader+ Community Initiative. The object of the first phase was to record the existing situation, in order to identify the remarkable points and the problems of the settlement, so that the interventions could be prioritized and located. The second phase included the proposals, the necessary actions, the detailed specifications and the budget of the proposed projects for the upgrading of the settlement of Kastania. The proposal was developed in two categories of interventions, interventions in public space and interventions in buildings.
