There is no exact date of construction of the building. It was probably built after the second half of the 19th century, preserving part of a building from an older period. It consists of two main volumes. The large one to the west is a two-storey stone building covered with a quadruple roof covered with Byzantine tiles. To the east it is connected with a smaller volume which is also a two-storey building with a triple roof and was part of an older building. A stone staircase, free in space, ends in a roof at the eastern end of the smaller volume. The vertical placement of the ladder forms an inner courtyard of "P" shape. In the courtyard is preserved part of the pebble floor from the first phase of the building. The plan of the large volume is rectangular with general dimensions 17.50x19.50 m. With the small side on Giardini Avenue. The plan of the small volume is almost rectangular with general dimensions 7.70x14.70 m. With the small side joining, on the north side, with the large volume. The courtyard with the pebble floor has a square floor plan with dimensions 10,00x10,00 m. The entrance to the building is from Giardini Avenue. Access to the courtyard is from two entrances, one on Giardini Avenue and one on Ifigenias Street. A newer opening connected the building to the summer cinema used as the school's playground. It is a typical example of neoclassical architecture, one of the few preserved today in the city of Chalkida. Of great interest is the preservation of the older part with elements of folk architecture of the last period of Ottoman rule. It has been designated a protected monument by Government Gazette 978 30-12-1994 by decision of the Ministry of Culture, taking into account article 52 of Law 5351/1932, Law 1469/50, Law 2039 and P.D. 941/77. According to the unanimous opinion of the Central Archaeological Council of Modern Monuments numbered 26 / 10-11-1994 it was decided : "The designation as a historical monument, which needs special state protection, of the building on 6 Giardini Avenue in Chalkida, owned by the Organization of School Buildings, because it is an important building for the study of the History of Architecture and is a reference point in the urban fabric of the city of Chalkida ". The highlighting of the building and its construction phases is accompanied by the integration of cultural use. The future remodeled summer cinema together with the multi-event hall and the school yard form an important pole of education and culture in a key part of the coastal front of Chalkida. Simultaneously with the inclusion of the new building program, the restoration of the building aims to solve both issues of static adequacy and repair of damage as well as the treatment of aesthetic problems.
