The dominant element in the area of Faliro is the sense of exit from the densely built urban fabric to an urban clearing-balcony with unobstructed views to the east and west of the city. With the construction of the coastal road at a lower level, a large part of the outdoor space was released, which was combined with the park of Faliro. The passage of the road does not work as a divisive but is part of the engravings of the space. Because the space that was released is based in a large part of it on the roof of a road project, it is not a priority to cover its surfaces with low or high vegetation. The existence in contact of the park of Faliro covers this need. Its radial engravings are turned and developed according to narrowings and widenings resulting from the existing building capacity. The overall intervention ensures the creation of a new urban area. The "balcony" of Faliro becomes a reference center for another kind of urban planning. On the occasion of this center, redevelopment actions can begin, following both the axis of development of the coastal promenade and the redesign of the coastal road for the installation of a tramway. The area of Faliro, organically connected with the park of Faliro, will be the heart of cultural and recreational activities of the city of Kavala.
