Regeneration of a park with a play area
Regeneration of a park with a play area
The playground is part of a wider free space of general dimensions 50x36 m. A curved corridor is created that connects the two entrances and is the backbone of the movements inside the space. The two entrances are shaped in a way that means and invites inside the playground. The curved corridor is the only surface that is paved with hard floor (cast pebbles). On the other surfaces, a stabilized earthen floor is implemented. A second, closed, route is created that connects to the main one. The closed path gives access to all the subsections with the gaming instruments. From the analysis of the layout of the existing planting, a grid, not a fixed partition, emerged. On this grid were applied two basic elements that give rhythm to the new form of the space. One element is the new trees that thicken the planting in selected places. The second element is the construction of a pebble flower bed that is also used as a living room. The flower beds are placed close to the play areas, allowing the attendants and the children to sit on them and at the same time help to delimit the sub-sections of the space. Sometimes they themselves participate in children's play as third-dimensional constructions, as starting points and endings of kinetic toys, as "racetracks" of races. As the surface of the playground is large, it was deemed necessary to equip it with instruments that are also used by the disabled. The sandpits are filled with pebbles of special granulometry according to the specifications. In the area of the rotating toys, a cast rubber floor is applied. Corresponding application of cast rubber floor is done in the area of the hill where the sliding toys are placed.
